Partition for home is formatted even if unchecked

during SliTaZ install on hard disk (from LiveUSB), I check use a separate partition
for /home and selected the right partition (/dev/sda7) but didn't check format partition to,
in order to preserve my files. But during process, I saw the Formatting /dev/sda7 step and
I lost my files indeed... I miss the good-old text install !
