Wifi keys with $ character not supported

A WPA passphrase like asdf$1234 in /etc/network.conf will never successfully
authenticate. I assume it isn't being escaped somewhere. If I change my WPA passphrase
to asdf1234 I can connect. Probably other non-alphanumeric characters are affected.

Ironically I had to escape the dollarsign in this bug report to get it to show up, too.
